Face Painting Magic

We were recently at the Caloundra Music Festival and my kids had there faces painted by Gabrielle.

She did such a wonderful job that I thought I would share her work with you.
This is my little man having a superhero mask painted on.

And my daughter with her rainbow butterfly

My nieces and their friend also had their faces painted.

I got myself a new toy!

I like to have a small camera to carry around with me on the days that I don't feel like lugging my 10kg camera bag for those fun happy snaps.
I have already have an Olympus M770 SW, mainly for the function that if my kids grab it and no doubt drop it, it won't break.  But the down side is crappy photos.  The colour is terrible and the focus is soft, but it serves it's purpose of being an unbreakable camera around my little photographers.
But I'd had enough of the poor images it gives me so I kept lugging around my 'big' camera.
But now, no more.... I have a new toy!
A Canon G10.

The new Canon G11 has just been released but I test drove both and opted for the G10.
It's such a beautiful camera.
Here's my first photo....

It's my son's archeology project that his Granma brought back from Hong Kong.

A Wedding with a Difference

Last month I shot shark enthusiasts Kurt and Julie's wedding at Underwater World.
The slightly quirky couple decided to get married in the shark tunnel.

Kurt and Julie had previously been on a shark diving holiday off the South Australian coast
bonding with the great white sharks and thought the opportunity to be married with the sharks
at Underwater World would be unique and memorable.

They even had a gorgeous cake, made by Ideas in Icing to capture the fun of the wedding.

But to top off their special day, a grey nurse shark was born at Underwater World only
hours before the ceremony.
It is only the fifth grey nurse shark to be born successfully in captivity.

Best Pie Deal in Town

As well as being a freelance photographer with my own business, I am also the creative photographer in the advertising and commercial features department at the Sunshine Coast Newspapers.
I have a pleasure of travelling and visting businesses on the Sunshine Coast and some days I get to find great bargains.

This week I had a job at The Pie Den in Brisbane Road, Mooloolaba.

The lovely owners Dennis and Shirl have recently moved from New Zealand where they had a successful pie and bakery business and they have opened up shop at Mooloolaba.

If you’re in the neighbourhood, drop on in. They have a great special at the moment, all plain pies are $2 each and all other pies are $2.50, and they are all made with love from scratch by Dennis.

I had the steak and cheese pie…YUM.
